Whenever we leave the island for a trip I look forward to our 15 minute ride in a puddle jumper airplane which transports us to the international airport. The airplane flies at an altitude of no more than 1000 feet, which makes for some spectacular views of the ocean and the surrounding islands.
I’ve been fascinated with aerial photography ever since I discover the book Earthsong by photographer and geologist Bernhard Edmaier. I now own the book and every time I crack it open I’m captivated by the intense beauty of earth from above. Needless to say, when I’m up in the air my camera tags along so I can capture my very own aerial photos of our island and the ocean.
Here’s a look at some of my images from a recent trip including several shots of our barrier reef. Hope you enjoy these as much as I loved taking them!
